Colors on your (RGB) screen can have a much larger range of brightness and saturation, compared to colors in ordinary (CMYK) print. Any brilliant RGB color stated, or rendered, or converted into CMYK will probably lose some of that brilliance. CMYK blacks, whether K only or not have a lighter value than 0r0g0b and "proper, modern" ICC colour profiles respect this. There are many ways to work around this problem. One way is to assign the Photoshop 5 Default CMYK colour profile to the CMYK document, then convert to RGB. Here is how to change CMYK to RGB in Adobe Illustrator: Select the object or image you want to convert. Go to Edit > Edit Colors > Convert to RGB. The object or image will now be in 1. get the icc file of the SWOP v2 colour space, and the icc of the output space (e.g. sRGB: the "RGB" used by web). Then select a colour intent. But probably the gamut of CMYK will be smaller than of the output RGB so you do not need to worry much about it. Then just usual colour space convertion (using icc profiles)

Here's the problem: In Illustrator I created a CMYK swatch with the values 100.0.81.18, when I switched the swatch to RGB the mix comes out as 0.143.92.
