There is a castle Windermere in the Lake District. If you have the Windemere marker on your map you should be able to fast travel to the area. Alternatively, go straight north from Shieldring Keep or northeast from Gorguath to an area with many columns. On your map you can see the route leading off to the northeast.
Finding saves is simple, but can be a little tricky if you don't know what you're doing. Before we begin, disable the Steam Cloud for KOA. This can be done by right clicking on the game in your library, opening Properties, and making sure the box labelled "Keep games saves in the Steam Cloud for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning" is NOT ticked.

For what ever reason on the purple path with the door lever puzzle when you walk to the part where a door opens and you see one of the bird enemies next to a chest on the other side the game will crash if you turn the camera in the direction of the door puzzle, even with the graphics as low as they can go.
